Why Does My Cat Sleep on My Feet? in Sawyer County, WI

In Sawyer County the winter question is the same one it is everywhere in the Midwest: the house is heated for the people in it. Wisconsin has 72 counties and a real winter at roughly 43.43°N. A cat's comfortable range starts near 86°F, so for a good part of the year the warmest thing available to it is a person sitting still.

What Cat Covey is

A 60″ × 50″ throw with a gusseted, stay-open pouch sewn into the foot end — a deep sherpa cave in the warmest spot your cat has ever found, which is you. Design patent pending on the pouch construction. It is made in small batches against the orders that come in, so ordering early is what sizes the run.

Why this is the answer to “why does my cat sleep on my feet”

Because the recipient already owns the alternatives. Cat beds, heated pads, cardboard castles — bought, placed on the floor, and ignored. The one thing nobody has is a bed in the only place the cat was ever going to choose.

Questions

How big is Cat Covey?

60 inches by 50 inches — a standard throw. The pouch at the foot end runs roughly 18 inches wide in production, deep enough for two average cats or one large cat plus your feet.

What is it made of?

Micro Mink fleece on the outside at 280–320 GSM, with a Sherpa fleece pouch lining at 200–250 GSM and a thermal layer between for the foot well. Machine washable.

Will my cat actually use it?

Cats prefer enclosed, covered resting places — a box, a bag, a cave bed. The pouch has a deep gusset and a semi-rigid entry seam so it holds its shape instead of collapsing flat, which is what makes it read as a cave rather than a fold of fabric.
