How big is Cat Covey?

60 inches by 50 inches — a standard throw. The pouch at the foot end runs roughly 18 inches wide in production, deep enough for two average cats or one large cat plus your feet.

Micro Mink fleece on the outside at 280–320 GSM, with a Sherpa fleece pouch lining at 200–250 GSM and a thermal layer between for the foot well. Machine washable.

Will my cat actually use it?

Cats prefer enclosed, covered resting places — a box, a bag, a cave bed. The pouch has a deep gusset and a semi-rigid entry seam so it holds its shape instead of collapsing flat, which is what makes it read as a cave rather than a fold of fabric.

Why Does My Cat Sleep on My Feet?

Because your feet are the warmest thing you own, and your cat has done the arithmetic.

It is thermodynamics before it is affection

A cat's thermoneutral zone — the range where it is neither working to warm up nor cool down — runs roughly 86–97°F. A human's is around 64–72°F. In a room you find pleasant, your cat is mildly cold. On a stationary human, feet are the warmest accessible real estate, and they stay still for hours.

The ancestry behind it

Domestic cats descend from the African wildcat, a desert animal. The heat-seeking is inherited, not fussiness. It is the same instinct that finds the sunbeam, the laptop, the boiler cupboard and the radiator.

Which cats do it most

Thin-coated and hairless breeds — Sphynx, Devon Rex, Cornish Rex — feel it most. Elderly cats and kittens thermoregulate poorly and seek heat harder than a healthy adult.

What to do about it

Do not evict the cat; give it somewhere better. The requirement is warmth plus enclosure — an actual cave, positioned where the cat already wants to be. That is precisely what Cat Covey's foot-end pouch is.

Cat Covey

A 60″ × 50″ throw with a gusseted pouch sewn into the foot end. Your feet go in at the mouth; the cat takes the nest. Micro Mink outside, Sherpa lining, and a semi-rigid entry seam so the pouch stays a cave instead of collapsing.
