Gifts for the Cat That Has Everything — Springfield, OH

Cat Covey throw on a sofa, cat nested in the cave at the foot end — a Christmas gift for cat owners in Springfield, OH

Springfield sits 43 miles west of Columbus, and its cats spend 166 days a year below 45°F looking for somewhere warmer than the floor. Usually that somewhere is a person they love.

Why it lands here specifically

Springfield has a population of about 59,357. and sits 43 miles west of Columbus, OH. Between October and April it averages an overnight low of 33.6°F, bottoming out at -9.2°F, with 166 days below 45°F — roughly 5.5 months of the year when a cat indoors is actively looking for a heat source.

A cat’s thermoneutral zone — where it is neither working to warm up nor cool down — runs roughly 86–97°F. A person’s is 64–72°F. Domestic cats descend from the African wildcat, a desert animal, so in a room you find pleasant your cat is mildly cold. On a stationary human, feet are the warmest accessible real estate.

Questions

Does Cat Covey ship to Springfield, OH?
Yes — Cat Covey ships anywhere in the United States, including Springfield, OH. Free shipping on orders over $79.
How big is Cat Covey?
60 inches by 50 inches — a standard throw. The pouch at the foot end runs roughly 18 inches wide in production, deep enough for two average cats or one large cat plus your feet.
What is it made of?
Micro Mink fleece on the outside at 280–320 GSM, with a Sherpa fleece pouch lining at 200–250 GSM and a thermal layer between for the foot well. Machine washable.
Will my cat actually use it?
Cats prefer enclosed, covered resting places — a box, a bag, a cave bed. The pouch has a deep gusset and a semi-rigid entry seam so it holds its shape instead of collapsing flat, which is what makes it read as a cave rather than a fold of fabric.
